Carolina SeniorCare PACE celebrates National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, September 16-22, 2018. Rehabilitation professionals and physical, occupational, and speech therapists help improve lives every day at Carolina SeniorCare.

In 2017, Randy, a participant at Carolina SeniorCare PACE, shared that life was one big struggle.  He could barely walk and would fall often.  His memory was failing, he faced hallucinations, and he slept most of the day. Randy and his wife and caretaker, Cindy, were desperate for hope.  “We were looking for a safe program for Randy, so I could return to work,” shared Cindy.

On April, 2017, Randy visited Carolina SeniorCare PACE.  He barely remembers that first visit, but will enthusiastically share today.  Randy has had many positive changes since attending Carolina SeniorCare; today he is walking, talking and inspiring others.

“Carolina SeniorCare is a caring place,” shared Randy.  They try to give their best to everyone; they give you hope.”

Randy believes the rehabilitation therapy at Carolina SeniorCare has helped him – mind, body and spirit. The majority of Randy’s time at the Day Center is spent in therapy.  Randy loves what therapy has done for his life and when not doing his own exercises, he is hanging out with others and encouraging them and giving them hope. He wants to share with other participants within the program that he is a proud example of how Carolina SeniorCare has made a positive impact on his life.

“Randy is an inspiration to all of us at Carolina SeniorCare,” shared Leslie Burris, therapy aide. “His positive outlook brings hope to others.”
